This is true.  Listing on any later Apple II model indents the line 
number by one.

On a IIgs or IIc, type:

  pr#3
  poke 49246, 0
  gr
  color=12
  hlin 0,79 at 14
  vlin 0,39 at 67

Someone can run this on the various IIc models to see if they all 
support it.
