Re: nullmodem communication

I'm attempting to transfer files from a pc to an Apple //e enhanced with
a super serial card but have problems.
My setup works wonderfully with ADT and also IN#2 and even PR#2. The SSC
card is set up to ignore the modem signals. My cable is not a full
cable, it has only rx, tx and ground.
I have downloaded several communications packages for prodos that I have
tried. They all have the same problem, they refuse to receive but send
ok. I'm suspecting it is because they enable the modemsignals and fails
because of that. I have tried a normal loopback cable but this does not
work either.
I wonder if there is any applications that would be able to receive a
file (zmodem/ymodem or even xmodem) for prodos which doesn't hang
itselves on such details (is made for nullmodem).
Is it maybe something I do wrong or it is just that I need to supply
modemsignals, a better cable...
I'm using telix on the pc side, very nice, does nullmodem as one
setting. (Telix is not freeware).
Thanks for the replies.
I just found the solution: Put the SSC SW2-6 in position on to enable
interrupts from the SSC. This is a requirement of all the comm programs
except ADT and IN#2/PR#2.
My SW2-6 was set to off on the recommendation in the ADT manual...
So modem signals had nothing to do with this, they are not needed. TIC,
AGATE and COMM.SYSTEM now works fine.
