Hello!
I'm a life-long Commodore 64 nut, but I've recently collected a couple of
Apples (ok, one Apple IIe, and one Laser 128). I've picked up a few programs
on eBay, but what I really want is to be able to get files directly from the
internet.
I'm an Apple nut with C64 inclinations. xD
I already have familiarity with modem emulation software such as TCPSER4J
which allows me to hook up my Commodore 128D to the internet for telnet
purposes. I use it to call Commodore BBSs and QLink all the time. I don't
currently have a terminal program for the Apple to do this with my current
Apple hardware, however.
I should image what I've got, unless you can find Apple Access somewhere.
What's the easiest way for me to get software from the Internet (I have no
macs) to my new Apples? My only disk drives are the standard 5.25" drives.
You will need a null modem connection. However, the Apple end of the disk
transfer software, ADT, can be easily enough wired down the lines with the
Apple's own firmware so you don't need a terminal program to transfer it
nor to transfer other disks.
Been there, done that.
