No that was why I suggested localtalk.
Once you drag a file from the PC disk to any area of the Mac it will fork 
it.
If you have the mac and //gs doing localtalk and you can see the PC floppy 
from the //gs you can grab it 'unforked' and place it on the //gs desktop 
and then a change of type should work.

On the otherhand I think there are a options to unfork a mac file on the 
//gs so I hope Simon jumps in since he has experience doing this as I recall 
from recent posts.
