I wonder if anybody here has a piece of whole-track writing code? I mean
a piece of code that runs on the Apple and that can write a whole
Disk-II track at once, and preferably one that works on pre-nibblized
data, just writing it to the disk with the correct timing. I'd assume
that nibble copiers contain such code, but before I put in all the work
to extract such stuff, I'd be glad if somebody already had the necessary
code available.
What's more, is a list of useful JSRs or CALLs into DOS 3.3 online
somewhere? Like, for example, a JSR to move the head to a certain track.
Sounds like you need a copy of 'Beneath Apple DOS'.
There is source code for DOS that does all of that, Format and lay out
sectors, write sectors. No reason you'd need to reinvent the wheel,
just move some tread around. :)
I think there is a BAD online somewhere. Barring that I'd sell you a
well used one for face value...
Of course I'd rather use the Locksmith Fast Copy write routine myself.
But then I'm not writing anything and I don't exactly know how to
extract it. :)
Thankx,
