Just because a monitor that was designed to work with an NTSC signal
(colour or black and white) can display a CCIR monochrome signal does
not make calling the monitor an "NTSC monochrome monitor" or "NTSC
colour monitor" superfluous. If it was designed to be an NTSC monitor
then it is an NTSC monitor regardless of whether it just might happen
to work with another signal. Saying it is monochrome or colour just
lets people know what type of display you'll get.
