If it's a color monitor, such a specification makes sense.

But if it's a b&w monitor accepting a composite video signal the pictire is
different:  there are not many NTSC-only sich monitors.  Almost all of them
are capable of accepting video signals of both NTSC and CCIR specifications.

What brand and model number is your monochrome monitor?  A web search may
reveal whether it's NTSC only or if it also is capable of accepting CCIR video.
