You could try getting a Commodore 1084 Monitor, as used mostly for the
Amiga and/or C128. They're quite common (at least over here in
Germany), pretty versatile (you can even fit in a SCART socket and use
it as a satellite TV), and generally they offer good image quality.
They have RGBI capability, albeit on a round DIN socket, not a
CGA-shaped one. It's very easy to build an adapter, however.
As for "enhancing" your IIe, the 65C02 CPU can be bought in several
places online, and for the ROMs I made some EPROMS from ROM files
available online. If you have access to a burner it's very easy to do.
I could even correct the look of the botched German umlauts that some
joker at Apple Germany seems to have designed while on LSD. ;-)
