Don't forget the Color Classic. You can add a IIe card to it, make a
couple of ProDos partitions on the hard disk, and have an accellerated
IIe with hard disk and 3.5" floppy!  Oh yeah, AND use it to xfer files
to your IIgs as you mentioned.

A couple of other options- slide the old, slow 030 mobo out the back
and slide in an 040 mobo from a 575 (I think) Mac. Way faster. There's
also a mod to increase the screen resolution to VGA.

I've done all that, and the IIe card still works. You just have to go
into the memory control panel and select 24 bit, instead of 32 bit.

It's a very handy IIe.
