Hi,
Here's the story: my brother is going to sell an Apple IIe computer
that had been in the attic for years and that we bought back from
someone years ago, and never used. So I don't know anything about Apple
computers, and thought though that it would be cool to transfer the
disks to PC before selling them.
I have NO serial port on the Apple II, and the computer will be sold
next week so there's some kind of hurry ;-) So I've plugged a 5.25 drive
to my PC and I'm starting using DISK2FDI.
The problem is that I don't know anything about the disks structure and
I have some questions:
1/ There are 2 sides on each disk, apparently they are separted (i.e. if
I flip the disk in the drive, it will boot with another program. Does
DISK2FDI make an image of both sides, or only side A ?
2/ Most of the B-Sides seem to be unrecognized on the 5.25 PC drive -
once I have inserted the disk, the drive never stops, and the transfer
tells me all the sectors are bad. Am I doing something wrong ?
Thanks in advance for any help, I'm lost - actually ignorant :-)
Simon
PS: I'm especially trying to transfer the French version of Wizardry,
"Sorcellerie", which is nowhere to be found on the Net it seems...
