So far, in the several recent discussions on scanning quality I've seen, several comments have been made all suggesting reducing gray levels and bpp. Is there a place I can find step-by-step instructions (ie, click here, here, here and select this) on how to do this in Photoshop?
I'm using verision 7, and it supports a very useful "Save for web" option, which provides very detailed controls over compression with previews of the result. If you want to minimize file size, it's an ideal laboratory where you can play with compression algorithms and "lossiness" while viewing the effects. -michael 8-voice music synthesizer using NadaNet networking!
