:
: What significance was the name "Turbo-28"? I've heard of it being used
in
: the firmware on prototype ROM 3 boards, replacing the name "Apple IIgs" on
: the startup screen.
:
: I always thought it referred to a IIgs with intergrated
ZipGS/ZipChipGS
: broken out on the main board using a 28 MHz for a 7 MHz clock speed.
: It'd make sense since they did this with the Apple IIc Plus.

I have one of these boards with the 28.63636 MHz oscillators.
Never noticed it until we started discussing which crystals
were used on the IIs. I have other IIgs's that I can look at
to see which crystal they have. One of the ROMs on this particular
board is an eprom. I should look into this further. I had 5
of these boards at one time but sold most of them.
