On some machines, switching to 256 colors is palpably faster.

Why not try it and see? In my experience, Bernie is faster on the G4
despite emulation. Remember, Classic is just re-hosting a single
threaded OS, not emulating another processor entirely.

<http://www.casags.net/> while waiting for the next Bernie.
