Yes, you can set up a bbs server at a friends house or just set ProTerm
to unattended mode and you'll have a bbs server on your Apple II.

GS Shrinkit is available in the Public File Library of A2central.com,
however they somehow missed including the 8-bit version.  You can find
ShrinkIt v3.4, Unshrink2plus and Shrink2plus at:

 ftp://ftp.gno.org/pub/apple2/prodos/archivers/

You only need Shrinkit v3.4 probably.  The 2plus version is for older
Apple II's with limited memory.
