Back when I had a tricked-out IIGS, I got an Atari ST monitor from
somwehere and used it with my system. IIRC, the monitor was an inch
larger than the stock Apple monitor, and it had audio built-in.

1. Was this a stock Atari monitor, or was ti modified (I think the
cable was modified)?

2. Did anyone else have one of these?

3. Does anyone know where one could be had these days?

Thanks.

The ST color monitors were a some form of RGB. I had a monochrome
personally since i did 'work' and wasnt into games.

And wasn't the monochrome monitor an odd scan rate? I only had
a monochrome monitor in the brief time I was using an Atari ST
(I got it at a clearance, and it turned out to have various problems)
and I made up a circuit to combine the RGB signals, and I guess the
sync signals, and fed that into the Apple III monochrome monitor.

I couldn't hook it up to the monochrome output because the horizontal
sync was higher.

Did have a rf modulator that output color to a TV tho..

The 8bit ataris had composite color.. ironically ive used my IIGS
composite with my 8bit ataris.. Just the opposite of you :)
