Re: Tweaking DOS.SYSTEM from Extra-K to support other DOS 3.3 variants

Hi Moll,

I used the 2.3 hack. I made the hack by crossing it with two other DOS variants, both called "DOS 3.4", one of which shared ZDOS 2.2's "clicking" and one of which didn't.

"Clicking"?

Yes... As weird as it is, these two variants click the speaker every time a sector is accessed.

A couple other variants output a diagnostic in the lower right corner.

FDOS is one I haven't heard of, prolly because I come from the US.

Has 'free sectors' in the catalog, is patched for more free sectors than
stock DOS3.3, runs a bit faster than pronto or diversi varieties.
Breakpoint is $B787 and the jump instruction is JMP $B4D3 should
you want to turn it into a fdos.system variant :)

Kind of reminds me of UniDOS, another hacked DOS 3.3 variant.

UniDOS supports 400K and 800K ProDOS block devices too. Be nice if it did 1200K though.
