The real key seems to be the connector part. Given that, you can attach
it to a blank board of whatever kind. Cut connector edges that will fit
off boards that aren't so appropriate, or for that matter junk boards,
or etch the fingers yourself, and then attach it to your board. You
used to be able to get rub-on resist that was just right for edge connectors.
