The card uses Phantom slots if I recall correctly.
It should work in any slot (maybe not slot3)

Phantom slot is a technique to have lots of
features on one card.  If you put the card
in slot 7, I believe it maps the 2nd cable
(drive 3 and 4) to slot 6 drive 1 and 2

Put the card in a slot, attach a drive to each
cable.  Run Copy II+ or another disk utility.
It will tell you which slots there are disk controllers
in and what drives are available.
