I wouldn't generally rule this one out as the controller card is (to my
knowledge) a strictly digital device.

I guess it depends on the amount of work one wants to put into.

One has to build a specialized interface for the PC and an appropriate
program of course. The corrects timings would probably be the biggest
problem in this project.
