IIGS/Networking/Marinetti buffs please help (long!)

Hi all,
I think I'm getting closer to TCP/IP networking my IIGS
over Appletalk.
I'm asking for some Marinetti help here, but I'll
describe my setup first.
Internet connection is: DSL modem-cum-router on
192.168.178.1

A Performa 630 obtains it's TCP/IP-adress via DHCP and
is 192.168.178.25. This machine runs IPNetRouter
creating a MacIP interface on 192.168.2.1 and bridging
those.

A MacPlus connected via appletalk can access the
internet as is proven by running NSCA Telnet. I have
setup MacIP as follows (TCP/IP-Panel): Adress is
192.168.2.2, Obtain Adress manually, Router adress is
192.168.2.1 (the adress given in IPNetRouter), and my
DSL modem plus the two DNS servers of my provider as DNS
server.
The procedure is: Mount the shared volume on the
Performa, fire up Telnet, connect e.g. to syndicomm.com

Once I had this setup running I moved over to the IIGS
running Marinetti and tried the same procedure:
Mount the shared volume of the Performa, Setup Marinetti
as follows: Link layer is MacIP, Configure window: Local
IP Adress 192.168.2.3, Gateway IP Adress: 192.168.2.1,
DNS servers are: my router+one of the provider'S;
username and password are empty.

On hitting "Connect to network" in Marinetti, I get the
messages "Registering named IP Adress, Looking for IP
gateway"
When I try to telnet to, e.g. syndicomm.com, I get the
"timed out" message.
Any parameters I have missed?

Thanks for staying with me that long,

Robert
