I think we can figure this out with a couple more pieces of information:

1) the location numbers of the two chips mentioned above (on the main

board)

2) the schematic, which should have the gates labelled with the location
numbers, and, hopefully, with pin numbers.

The schematics that I have are difficult to read (I'm not an electrical
engineer.) Rather than having one whole schematic that shows the physical
layout of the board, the schematics are broken down like this:

-Main Board Logic
-Memory Array
-Video IO
-Color Card Logic

As near as I can tell, the schematics show how things are connected, but
they don't show where things are on the board. For example, on the
schematic, the Power Connector is directly behind what I think are the Card
Slots, and the CPU is directly to the right of those slots. It isn't layed
out on the schematic the way it is on the board. I don't see much that I can
identify between the schematic and the actual board. For example, what is a
JZA6 Interface, and where is that on the board? Its very confusing.

There is usually (but not always) some notation on the schematic that
can be tied back to the markings on the board--either board coordinates
or "U" numbers (e.g.: U23). Schematics are seldom laid out like the
physical board.

Is it possible to scan the schematics and make them available for
examination? Perhaps a process of elimination will allow us to
correspond the gates in question with the schematic.
