it was the indestructable rubber maid containers that got me in this
mess...no need to sort thru stuff..simply haul from pawn shop ..toss/give
away
stuff not needed....place in rubbermaid whilly nilly according to how the
stuff fits....and then just stack them....they don't leak...or rot like a
card
board box used previously...and they stack nice....so if you just pack rat
it in that manner since around fall 1983...till present...you have 3
problems
1) too much stuff 2) stuff to run device a is buried under 40 rubber maid
containers or stashed willy nilly around...so not only don't you know (or
remember)
how much of the stuff for a particular item you have or even how complete it
is...3) you don't have any idea where it is at...a large giant apple ii jig
saw puzzle
....but stuff was given to me...or getting tossed or whatever....so just
grabbing it and tossing it into rubbermaid containers seemed like the
sensible thing to do...(this is what i suspect happened to bill buggie (sp?)
...eventually he was buried in apple ii stuff and trapped thus why we don't
see him on here anymore....he is trapped in a rubbermaid maze...)
i did have a lot of pc dos stuff and hardware...but got rid of a lot of it
....easy to do not worth anything...after a few years so got rid of it
guick....but as an example of that....i had a guy up and close his pc store
who was a friend...got a much better job elsewhere and i got the job of
emptying his store inventory remaining from his 3 stall garage....packed to
the ceiling..sure..but
even if you have a 3 car garage full of pc stuff..it is pretty easy to find
40 some rubber maid boxes of stuff too cool to toss...so you can see how out
of control it can get if i actually am trying to hoard something
anyway there is guite a bit of motivation to sort thru it in some
manner...(like found a 8" lobo apple ii controller today)...i'm trying to
stay motivated by thinking
to myself..ok ...how motivated would you be to sort thru this stuff if you
stumbled on some other apple ii nuts hoard of this magnitude....gonna be
interesting to
see what i eventually end up with at the end of this process...
of course still the disks and cider press stuff..once i find the actual
items or hardware prob gonna then have (and backup) the install disks or
once i get everything together it will be dang hard to play with the
stuff....unless i can find the docs (file cabinets) and disks to correspond
with this stuff..which means more of same..groan...
so laugh everyone...i know there are more then a few of you out there who
also are into the rubber maid view of grab it now sort it later...give it
another 10 yrs and you'll be in my boat too...
