No, you are correct, but in the real world, Firewire devices
support the higher rated throughput moreso than USB devices.
In most applications, Firewire devices will get much closer to
that 400Mbp than USB devices will to their higest rating of 480.
I've read lots of articles comparing the two, and the firewire is
still used more often in video applications than USB is. Most
DVD recorders are firewire compliant.
