Is there a way that I can extend the range of my null modem connection
from PC to GS by a long distance, say 100 feet?

I have built (in many years past) serial cables of 150+ foot and had them work reliably at 19200b. I used a local electronics supplier to get a 7 conductor shielded cable and soldered ends on it.

Back when MSDos version 5 was out and you could use a null modem cable to map drives for sharing, I ran a PC services business. People wanted to share files but didn't want to pay huge sums of money for networking so I'd run this 7 conductor cable through the wall and across drop ceilings point to point and solder ends on. Most were mom n pop shops that only had 2 computers, the serial option was perfect for their limited needs. (Interlnk anyone?)

I miss DOS, you could send programs and data over the cable so migration s, file sharing, and software sharing was a snap. I still have a 25ft cable and interlnk boot disks I used to use to migrate data from one computer to another during upgrades.

Thankx,
