I've looked at the manual for the UDS-10 and while it does emulate a modem 
for dialing out, I don't see any modem emulation for an incoming call.  The 
other box I'm looking at will send a "RING" out the serial port and wait for 
the BBS to respond with an "ATA" then it will send out the "CONNECT <BAUD>" 
message, just like a regular modem.  This is the functionality I'm looking 
for.
