Michael: I have done a wee bit of network tinkering with the II. I have
tried this and that.
As to the Asante: I have tried it, and a Farralon printer thing, a Danya
thing and something called
Etherwrite +, also a older Gator Box. Every single one does exactly as you
describe: Locks
the control panel and a reboot is needed. If anyone out there knows the
secret to this one I too
would love an answer. I would also like to add: Can (if the above is
solved) one of thse gadgets
be used also to pass TCP/IP? Why? well Marinetti 3 has the MacTCP layer in
it which should be able to
work this way IF the ethernet bridge passes those packets. A IIci running
IPNetRouter works
but, as Michael says; a Mac as a Apple II peripheral is boring.
