You seem to have a lot going on in that GS, are you sure the power
supply isn't getting overwhelmed?
No, I'm not sure about that at all, to be honest ;)
I've found that a few programs I have (like ComputerEyes GS) like run
from a floppy with a very minimal sytem installed. Perhaps you just have
too many INITs and Tools in your system...
Hmmm. Maybe, it does have a lot of tools. Generally though, it has been
very stable. Something has upset the balance perhaps. Maybe the VOC
isn't helping matters, but things were upset last night.
Getting rid of Appletalk is also a good idea... it seems to have issues
with just about everything.
I've found it to be quite happy on my ROM03 machine; the only persistent
bug is the failure of MacIP Link Layer to sort DNS resolution properly.
Obviously it has to be disabled for MIDI, and some demos require TWGS
IRQ off (which also causes issues with RamFAST).
I wonder if my PSU is incapable of delivering the load for a cold boot,
hence the two or three power cycles before RamFAST is happy (it's still
bringing up errors despite the changed RAM, though at least it doesn't
freeze outright.
Looks like my shopping list is now headed by a Buggie PSU (and 32K
Cache, and a RAMKeeper with two cards to give 12Mb or so ;) - now
there's a way to blow a PSU!).
