Which 6502 variant to use?

Hi,

I have a new to me Apple //e.

It looks just to have a 6502A (it reads 370-6502 on the chip.

I have a (faulty) //e Platinum, which contains a 65C02 (G65SC02P-2)
and also a regular //e (also faulty) which contains a Rockwell 6502-40.

I know that the 65C02 offers more instructions (is that all, or does it
run faster too?) and the 6502 in the faulty //e is different from the one
I have in my current //e (which has an S logo on the chip, instead of a
Rockwell logo).

Should I change the 6502(a) in my //e for a 65C02 or the Rockwell 6502(a)
or just leave it alone? What are the benefits to changing processors?

Kindest Regards,

Alistair Ross
