Re: RamFast SCSI question (comparison)

Is a RamFast revision D SCSI card better than a revision C card? I know they
look different, but how do they compare?

Do they both have the 'utilities' in ROM?

I have both of them. They both have utilities in ROM as well as a
ROMdisk with a GS/OS driver and a copy of the ramfast utility. The
rev C uses Dip switches for some settings while the rev D does it all
in the utilities program. They both require an Enhanced IIe or IIgs.

On both the rev C & D the DB25 cable is detachable in case you want
to use an internal drive. While it doesn't have one soldered in there
is a place on my rev C for a 50 pin connector.

The Rev D is a newer design and is suposed to be a lot less power
hungry. It can also use a 1mb cache.

I've never compared the two for speed so I can't comment on that.
