Actually what got me going on this idea was exactly that (user
multitasking). Writing programs, for example, might be faster if you
could have Merlin, Program Writer and a few Beagle Bros utilities all
available without having to switch disks etc... of course it also
creates the potential to have multiple copies of the same file open in
different programs, which could be counter-productive, but I can't help
thinking it would be pretty cool anyway ;-)
