Transwarp GS debugging

My TWGS arrived!

At the moment I'm getting random characters on screen, sometimes coloured
blocks - the green light has flickered into life a couple of times which
made me think that the power supply wasn't up to it (just from how it
flickered), and a couple of times I've had a 'pop pop pop' from the speaker.

Everything is seated correctly, the crystal is 28MHz so the chip isn't
overclocked... Forgot the EPROM version, but it has 8K cache and most of the
GALs have a stuck on part number ending with an N.

I have found green oxide on the chip cable header - need to get some more
contact cleaner to get it off carefully. Is this a good candidate for
causing problems? I also found mention of the EPROM failing on some and SSH
offering new ones, but the EPROM is on the cache board, isn't it? And
soldered I think.

Itching to get this working, so any help would be useful :)
