Re: Whats going on with the AnyCard?
You can hear more news about KFest if you read the public A2Central postings
at: http://www.a2central.com and there's also the newly revised KFest web
page at http://www.kfest.org to check out - a new photo gallery of this and
previous years events are up for viewing. And, <blatant plug> a membership
(on $35 yr - thats pizza for 4) to Syndicomm gets you access to TONS of
files, resources, forums, most of the active KFest developers/attendees, the
latest news, an e-mail address, web space, web and telnet access, online
chat... the benefits are tremendous. The subscription fee certainly doesn't
make the operator rich, but it helps offset the cost of operation and
procurement of needed server equipment. Read more about the great benefits
membership can give you at: http://www.syndicomm.com/join/index.html. More
KFest stuff is posted in The Lamp, http://lamp.a2central.com/ and Howard's
Apple II News and Notes: http://lamp.a2central.com/a2n/. Of course, there's
also Juiced.GS - it provides probably the most comprehensive coverage of the
event in print: http://www.juiced.gs/
I was personally there when Hans brought us up to date on the Anycard. Short
analysis - the current card that was displayed at last year's KFest won't be
made due to technical problems. He instead discussed a different product
that would provide the same functionality but it's going to reside on two
cards. He said (and emphasized) that he was well into the development cycle,
and confident that it would work as planned. I don't recall for sure, but I
thought he said he already had a prototype made. Syndicomm is selling a two
DVD set of recorded KFest sessions - Han's presentation might be on one of
them.
