: They're Dallas Semiconductor Smartwatch chips. Dallas
Semiconductor
: still make them as they are still used in a few places. The
Smartwatch
: chip is a sealed unit that contains the clock and a battery.
They

The
: EPROM can be on the Apple IIs motherboard or on a card. ProDOS
has to

The correct number for the 28 pin SmartWatch
is D1216E. You can get then from Jameco, DigiKey
and possibly Mouser. If you decide to buy one,
any number of us who have them from last years
group buy can provide you with software necessary
to make it go. ProDOS gets patched so you won't
need the software again except you should copy
the time setter program to your disk in case it
should gain or lose which mine hasn't since I had
installed it into my //e, but I have it just in
case. :o)
