Well, I got myself an Apple ][ plus. It was sitting on eBay with very few bids, and whilst it cost 'something', it wasn't the mad money that most 1970s computers are suddenly fetching! And what a lovely beast it is too - DOS 3.2.1 Masters, manuals, an original sticker, Silentype and card, one drive and a teeeeny 9" Hitachi monitor. No language card. Do I need it? Richard
Not really. The language card gives you 16K of bankswitched RAM that swaps out the ROM allowing for an alternate BASIC to be loaded high (hence the name); other programs use it too; 64K is really helpful to have because some programs do require it, but there are programs that run fine in 48 (if you have that much...)
