Re: Apple IIgs' Failure at Random
Rubywand,
Slot 0 is 16MB memory available. One is 8MB for RAM and another one is
8MB for ROM. It is the AE RAM Keeper card.
Slot 1 is Parallel Port controller card for printer.
Slot 2 is BlueDisk card, but it is turned off.
Slot 3 is Transwarp GS, but slot 3 is never used.
Slot 4 is Sound Wiring to stereo speaker, but slot 4 is never used.
Slot 5 is Super Drive card for 800K (GCR) and 1.44M (MFM)
Slot 6 is AE PC Transporter card.
Slot 7 is Turbo Card for hard drive.
I suspect that each slot take too much power from power supply. I use
Vulcan power supply while Vulcan power supply's hard drive is connected to
Turbo card (replaced Vulcan controller card).
AE PC Transporter has Math CoProcessor chip. Math CoProcessor chip is
very very hot like 200 degree temperature, but it has special flat heat
sink. Do you think that it causes the problem that it interferes between PC
Transporter and motherboard? PC Transporter is operating very well.
Asterisk prompt appears at random time that can stop operating
motherboard including PC Transporter and other devices.
