Yes, it is nice to be able to use the DAC522 player on longer sounds.

When I wrote it and SOUND.EDITOR, I was thinking it would be used
mostly by people without hard disks, and so was never very motivated
to do much for longer sounds.  It may be that the average //e user now
has a hard disk and AUX RAM, and support for longer sounds would be
generally useful.

As I'm sure you can appreciate, memory management for cutting and
pasting, etc., with sound segments scattered across several banks of
AUX RAM is pretty complex.  It just didn't seem worth the trouble.

Phillip Lamb apparently discovered this as well, since further developments
have not been forthcoming.

Of course, just playing back sounds stashed there, like II.SOUND, is
a lot easier.  (And I expect that the "clicks" are optional, if I ever get
around to looking at integrating bank switching into the code. ;-)
