ADT Transfer failure

Here's the situation. I have my serial card setup properly in the Apple II.
I was able to send over and save ADT to disk from hyperterminal in Windows
on my laptop. I'm able to send files -from- Apple II disks to the laptop
with ADT.

However, if I try to transfer an Apple II *.dsk file -to- the Apple II, ADT
attempts to read the disk it will be writing to and returns the error "not a
16-sector disk". I tried formatting/INITing it ("INIT HELLO") and then
trying again but I just get the same error. The version of ADT on the Apple
II I'm using is 1.21
