Hi Guys!
Blame Apple. Blame space. Blame collectors. I just got rid of my rarest
Acorn in exchange for the Apple IIgs I miss so much.
Some of the regulars may remember my old AppleRetrospective site. I had
to drop it for personal reasons, and distributed my collection to
various people... but now Apple have won me over first with an iBook,
then the G5, and now I got an eMac, and three Newtons, and my 3 Mac
Pluses and Classic, and Colour Classic with Mystic...
But most of all, I now have a very basic IIgs...
I know that various people offered help earlier this year, but I lost
my PC due to viruses and crap; the eMac is a replacement for it, as the
G5 is very much employed with Logic and Shake in my studio.
Now I have a basic UK IIgs, can any of the people who offered help still do so?
What I would like is a ROM 03 motherboard. Mr Gerber offered me help
here but shipping for a 110V complete system was a PITA, an MB on it's
own makes far more sense. I'm also going to need more memory, and a
SCSI card (high speed is great, but anything will do).
For those in the UK - I need a monitor!
Ewen Wannop emailed me last time I popped my head in, but my PC's death
lost the email.
Please, get back in touch! I may not be collecting to the same degree;
eBay has made it harder and more expensive in many ways and I don't see
the need for info online in the same way as AppleRetro was (thanks,
people that ripped it off, and thanks without the sarcasm for those who
have made far better, impressive sites) - but I am really looking
forward to having a IIgs again.
Regards, and best wishes to everyone I knew,
Richard
