That isn't necessary.  The "little board" is a soft video switch, which,
when connected properly to the Videx board and the internal Apple
video port, will automatically switch the Videx output between its
own 80-column output and the native Apple 40-column video.

That's the whole point of the "little card", since the Videx card is
quite capable of generating its 80-column output without any help.
