It is easy to find 3-cell AA battery holders, with the result that there
is less "mechanical" work, less soldering, and somewhat longer
battery life (though I would expect something near shelf life anyway).
The lithium battery (cell, actually) has a longer life (10-15 years),
and is, of course, more compact. But 3.6 volts is 3.6 volts, no
matter how its obtained. ;-)
