I've been contacted by a fellow antipodean II user, who is going to burn 
me a copy of the appropriate UK ROM (my machien currently has the 
British pounds symbol which alternates with the # symbol with a little 
switch on the machine's underbelly, so we're going with the UK ROM.

Thanks for all the help - it's been (as always) great.
