Interesting. It appears that the Echo II is four years newer
(at least in manufacture) then the Echo IIb. Perhaps the
Echo II was a cost reduction, using a 16-pin synthesis
chip (the TI 48675).
Strange that the nomenclature should be "backward", though.
Does anyone know if there was an even earlier Echo II?
And are the II and the IIb software compatible? (I assume so.)
