wild setup for using imagmaker and cf cards/etc!

Just thought i'd throw this out..had a buddy in town this week and he
brought his 2 cf cards with 512mb scandisks on them....we were trying to
setup the imagemaker setup and diskmaker setup also the ciderpress product
as well...to see how to back up hds and floppies and stuff..we need to
archive our stuff...we seem to have most of the xfer bugs figured out...all
the programs seem to work guite well

but as i was sitting there i started laughing while looking into the gs...it
was a xmas tree of lights..so just for everyones amusement and the fact that
this stuff did all work together when we were swaping and testing diskmaker
and imagemaker and the ciderpress software..with these hardware
devices....... this is what we had going on

with lid taken off

Main CPU apple //gs upgrade kit cpu rom 1 motherboard
slot 1 cf/card with 512mb scandisk card (buddies)
slot 2 focus 576 meg hard drive card w/prodos //e utils
slot 3 default (empty)
slot 4 cf/card with 512mb scandisk card (buddies)
slot 5 default (empty)
slot 6 cf/card with 256mb scandisk card (mine)
slot 7 ramfast rev D SCSI card w/ rev b eprom

mem: applied engineering 4meg card (slinky?ver?) small
(forget the name last type 4meg made by a.e.i think)

CPU upgrade: all this running on a modified applied
engineering Transwarp GS card ..tweaked with
chip mod for 14mhz (stable speed).

anyway everything worked fine including the xfering to the ibm pc of disk
images and such for 5.25 floppies and 3.5 floppies and hd partions (32meg)
etc etc...using ciderpress imagemaker/diskmaker etc etc

so it looks like i just have to sit down and go thru everything i have and
suck it into the win XP machine
and eventually burn the stuff to backup CD's or DVD's etc..prob take me a
year ...sheesh..

anyway just for your info

p.s. it also came to mind about that possible card that would do USB devices
on a apple ii gs would be a great
help on this project any ideas on its progress????..be great to xfer to a
usb 256meg port device and over to the win XP machine of my disk
images/backups etc

last point a lot of my 5.25 floppies the files were good but the boot
section of the disks were very old (like lets see.. 1976 to 2004...jeez...
28yrs old...)...anyway..even thou ....these disks did not boot directly off
floppies.the files were good..but could not boot themselves anymore directly
...they came up fine with ciderpress etc for checking disk images and such
after the xfer...that is a relief ..hate to have to format a bunch of 5.25
disks and xfer the files before doing the imagemaker/diskmaker/ciderpress
process...came up fine verified fine ..seems the boot tracks are the 1st to
go on these very old 5.25 media..but was not a real needed fix before
backing up the disks (assuming the files themselves are ok)...via the above
programs..just for your info

anyway for those keeping track...the above stuff had NO hardware/software
problems for what we attempted in testing/xfering etc

anyway...was pretty cool to play with
