Nothing wrong with syntax errors. That's what the
syntax error feedback is designed for. And line numbers
help to know where certain things begin and end. Now, if
you use a line number and try to put a whole routine on
that one line, then jumping to that routine is made easier.
I always also try to start a new set of 100 each time I
begin a new and fresh routine, for example, if you have
a startup routine say to setup a menu, then use 100, 105,
etc..... and if it is finished at 185, then the new routine
would start at 200. Now you know even better where you are.
I used to also use odd numbers for my jumpstart blocks,
say 101, 105, 110, 115, etc..., then next block is 201.
GOTO statements are fine for unconditional no choice in
the matter jumps, but not recommended actually. Best to
save GOTO for IF/THEN type logic statements, in which
case the GOTO word is unnecessary. As in, "IF A$="JOHN"
THEN 201.

So BASICally what you're saying is no matter what would
be the language, you would still type poorly. Yeah, me too.
Don't feel badly about that, you're not alone. 8o)
