Can't really help you with finding software, but I have to comment that
my daughter (4) loves the few educational titles I have. I often try to
divert her with flashy CD-ROMs on the Mac, but she always holds out for
the Apple II. She must be a bit of a hardware afficianado, because she
won't even settle for Bernie ;-)
