23 HD cinema display connectivity

Hi,

Investigating to purchase 23" HD cinema display for its impressive
resolution of 1920 x 1200
But interested in using display only for industrial use in video processing
development for television.
Unfortunately using a MAC computer is no option because of compatibility
with
other development tools ( Mix of Unix and WIN32 console tools and
libraries )
So I want to connect to PC with ATI Radion 9600 graphics card.
Raid 6 SCSI array will stream HD video directly to ATI card.
Optionally processing real time picture improvement by Dual Xeon processors.

Anyone with experience connecting 23" cinema display to a PC through DVI ?

I already know there is a DVI to ADC converter cable available from Apple.
Basically just splitting up ADC into DVI, USB and Power.
And there is my concern. What is communicated through the USB ?
Is this Audio only ? Which is totally irrelevant to me.
Or is there more control ? Which would not be logical since the DVI
standard already supports data communication.

Any information or experience is very welcome.

Please reply to group or to perry.mevissen@philips.com

Thanks in advance,
Perry
