Heat affects discolorization (fact). UV *also* affects it. There are
patterns around warm items - as reported by Apple users.

Have you heard many reports of Lithium cell exploding because of 2 AA
cells attached in parallel? I haven't, not even on Art Bell. However,
you probably should remove the old cell first by cutting the leads
near the dead battery, remove the cell, then attach the 2 AA cells (in
a Radio Shack holder) to the leads.
