Re: FS: Deluxe Option Board,Central Point
Roy,
Early Mac OS 6.0x and Early System 7.0 it was called Apple File
Exchange. This allowed you to read PC and Apple // 3.5 disks to
transfer files.
The Extention that let you mount ProDOS 3.5 disks on those early
OSes was called ProDos or something like that.. I would have to look
that one up.
To mount PC disks on the desktop for those early systems, a 3rd
party made a few choices one could use, but if I mistkaen (am I guys?),
AccessPC was the extention of choice and came with SoftWindows.or with
out. It also allowed you to use other devices as well to read PC
disks.
On later systems like System 7.1 Pro and up an extention got added
called PC Exchange and it was included with the System Software, but
you still needed the ProDos exnetion.
System 7.5 and up PC Exchange and ProDos Exention were combined
and you only needed PC Exchange. PC Exchanged is included with every
os Starting at Mac OS 7.5 to 9.22.
On the Mac OS X can read PC and Prodos disks as well.....
