Mac OS X can read and write MS-DOS format disks fine, but it has no 
support for ProDOS disks at all.

The application Apple DOS File System, available from David Cotter at 
http://www.lazilong.com/apple_II/adfs/ lets you open Apple II disk 
images and copy files to and from them. It runs under System 7 through 
to Mac OS X and has very good integration with the Mac's Finder, so you 
can just drag and drop files.
