That is correct. Best bet is to use the IIe emulation card inside a 68040
based Mac such as the LC475/Performa 475 & 476/Quadra 605 (all essentially
the same Mac, just came configured differently and bundled differently
from Apple....Quadra 605 has a slightly different plastic case).

The lowest Mac one would probably want to experience with the IIe
emulation card installed is the LC III which has a 68030 processor.

I've got the IIe emulation card inside my Mac LC 475 maxed out with RAM
and video memory, and it runs real good.
